El Retiro Park Segway Tour
El Retiro Park Segway Tour
At the time indicated, we'll start this segway tour in El Retiro Park at Avenida Menéndez Pelayo, 9, from where we'll head to Madrid's most famous park.
After learning how to drive the segways, we'll start our route around El Retiro Park by visiting the ruins of San Isidoro Church and the Casita del Pescador. We'll also pass by Casa de FIera, an old zoo that has been converted into a library.
We'll continue our route zooming past the Fallen Angel Fountain. Did you know that it's located 666 metres (2185 feet) above sea level? After learning the legend of this iconic sculpture, we'll head to the Palacio de Cristal to admire this architectural gem built in 1887. The next stop will be El Retiro Lake, where we'll see the iconic Alfonso XII monument.
Then, we'll explore the flowerbeds and see a very special species: the famous Montezuma bald cypress, the oldest tree in Madrid. It's over 400 years old!
Finally, after an hour of exploring, we'll end this tour at the initial meeting point.
Paseo del Prado Route
If you choose this option, after enjoying the segway tour around El Retiro Park, we'll continue our tour for 30 minutes around Paseo del Prado. On this additional route, we'll go past Puerta de Alcalá and continue to the Cibeles Fountain, where Real Madrid's triumphs are celebrated.
The route will continue to Paseo del Prado, where we'll see the Apolo and Neptune Fountains. The latter is where Club Atlético de Madrid celebrates their wins.
Finally, we'll pass by the front of the Prado Museum and return to the meeting point.
