Day Trip to Toledo, Segovia and Ávila
At the indicated time, we'll meet in the centre of Madrid. Once we're all ready, we'll make our way to our first destination: Toledo. Get ready to see one of the 15 Spanish cities declared World Heritage Sites!
This city is known as the City of Three Cultures because, among its narrow streets, you'll find architectural gems of Christian, Jewish and Muslim origins. We'll walk through its old town and admire the exterior of representative buildings such as the Alcazar, the majestic Cathedral of Toledo and the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. If we there is availability, we'll visit the inside of the Cathedral of Toledo.
Afterwards, we'll go to Segovia where you'll have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch on your own. We'll meet again to go in search of the Roman Aqueduct while we talk about the importance of this building for the city. Then, we'll admire the cathedral from outside and visit the emblematic Alcazar of Segovia, a military fortress that has served as the residence of many of the kings of Spain!
Our next destination will be Ávila. Once we arrive, we'll discover the charms of this walled city and its historic centre. First of all, we'll take the time to admire the city's impressive walls. Did you know that its walled enclosure is the best preserved in all of Spain? We'll also walk around the medieval citadel and see Ávila Cathedral.
Later, we'll admire the city from the Mirador de los Cuatro Postes viewpoint, one of the city's best viewpoints! Be sure to get your camera out and capture the beauty of Ávila!
Finally, we'll start our return journey to Madrid and say our goodbyes at the meeting point after between 11 and 13 hours.
Itinerary Order
Please keep in mind that, for organisational reasons, the order of the visits mentioned in the description may vary. On some days, we could first visit Segovia and then Ávila, with free time for lunch in the latter city. In this case, in the afternoon, before returning to Madrid, we'll visit Toledo.
