Book a day trip from Madrid to Ávila and Segovia, two striking cities packed with beautiful monuments, including city walls, Gothic palaces, castles, cathedrals, and the most famous Roman aqueduct in the world.
Segovia & Ávila Day Trip
We'll meet at the indicated point and leave the center of Madrid, heading north to reach the first city we'll visit on this tour: Segovia awaits us!
Once we arrive in Segovia, those who have booked the tour with the lunch option will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. If you have not chosen this option, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time in Segovia to recharge your batteries and enjoy at your leisure the most famous Roman aqueduct in the world, measuring 16 kilometres (10 miles) long.
Afterwards, we'll regroup in front of the Segovia Cathedral and admire this imposing temple known as the “Dama de las Catedrales Españolas” (Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals) from the outside. Next, we'll stroll through the Jewish quarter until we reach one of the country's most spectacular castles: the Alcazar of Segovia. Here, we'll go on a guided tour to see the different rooms where the different kings and queens of Castile lived over different periods of time. After the guided tour of the Alcázar, we'll hit the road toward Ávila.
Ávila, Saint Teresa of Ávila's place of birth, houses the oldest and most complete city walls in Spain, built between the 11th and 14th centuries. During the tour, we'll observe the 90 turrets and 2,500 meters (8,202 ft) of walls that surround the old town and defend its numerous monuments, like its various Gothic palaces, Romanesque churches and a 12th-century fortified cathedral, which we'll admire from its exterior.
Our day trip will conclude by returning to Madrid, where we'll arrive after 9 hours.
