Avila and Segovia Day Trip

We'll meet in the center of Madrid at the established time and head north to reach the first city on our day trip, Ávila.

Ávila, Saint Teresa of Ávila’s place of birth, houses the oldest and most complete city walls in Spain, built between the 11th and 14th centuries. During the tour, we'll observe the 90 turrets and 2.500 meters of walls that surround the old town and defend its numerous monuments, like its various Gothic palaces, Romanesque churches and a 12th-century fortified cathedral, which we'll admire from its exterior.

This city has the privilege of being one of the 15 Spanish cities declared World Heritage Sites. The city of Segovia, the next stop on the tour, also has this recognition.

Once we arrive in Segovia, those who have booked the tour with the lunch option will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. If you have not chosen this option, you'll have an hour free in Segovia to recharge your batteries and enjoy at your leisure the most famous Roman aqueduct in the world, measuring 16 kilometres (10 miles) long.

After refueling, we'll regroup in front of the Segovia Cathedral and admire this imposing temple known as the “Dama de las Catedrales Españolas” (Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals) from the outside. Next, we'll stroll through the Jewish quarter until we reach one of the country's most spectacular castles: the Alcázar of Segovia. Here, we'll go on a guided tour to see the different rooms where the different kings and queens of Castile lived over different periods of time.

After the guided tour of the Alcázar, we'll hit the road again and return back to the meeting point in the centre of Madrid, where we'll arrive after 9 hours of touring.

Tour with lunch

If you wish, you can book the option with lunch, which includes the following traditional meal in Segovia:

  • Menu: beans from La Granja, roast suckling pig, Segovian ponche cake with vanilla shortbread, bread, water, and wine.

The estimated time for the meal is one hour.

If you choose the option without lunch, you'll have an hour of free time to eat on your own.
