6-Day Safari to Livingstone
Description
Day 1: Lusaka - Choma
Welcome to the capital of Zambia! We'll meet up at the StayEasy hotel in Lusaka. Our adventure starts with a journey south, making our first pit stop in the charming town of Kafue, where we'll cross the river that shares its name. Next, we'll continue our route through the scenic Munali Hills, which may remind you of the famous explorer David Livingstone, who once ventured through this landscape.
Our next destination is Mazabuka, famously known as the sweetest town in Zambia due to its abundant sugar cane plantations. We'll soak in the picturesque views before proceeding to the farming town of Monze. Here, we'll take a break at a local restaurant to recharge and refuel for our journey.
Following lunch, we'll explore the Samu Lya Moomba village to immerse ourselves in African history and culture. Our day will wrap up at a Choma lodge, where you'll enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Choma - Livingstone
We'll kick off the day with a satisfying breakfast at the hotel, then pay a visit to the Choma Museum to delve into the history of Zambia's Southern Province capital. After exploring the museum's key exhibits, we'll head south to Kalomo, a town once the capital of what was previously known as Northern Rhodesia. Here, we'll recharge at a traditional African restaurant.
Leaving Kalomo, our journey will continue through the southern reaches of Zambia until we reach our destination, the Livingstone Lodge. Here, we'll settle in for the night, with dinner and accommodations for the next few nights.
Day 3: Livingstone
On the third day, we'll start early with a sunrise safari at Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. During this two-hour tour of the protected area, we'll observe the white rhinos that inhabit this ecosystem.
Following the Mosi Park safari, we'll return to your Livingstone Lodge for breakfast. You'll have the rest of the day to relax until late afternoon, when we'll arrange for your pickup from the lodge for a 2-hour sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
We'll enjoy a delicious dinner at the Livingstone Lodge in the evening.
Day 4: Livingstone
Following a satisfying breakfast at the hotel, we'll take a brief 4-kilometer (2.4 miles) drive to the remarkable Victoria Falls. These majestic waterfalls cascade from a height of 120 meters (393 feet) and are located on the Zambezi River, which serves as the natural boundary between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
After two hours of exploring the waterfalls, we'll head back to the city to visit the Livingstone Museum. Afterward, we'll take you back to your accommodation for lunch.
Following lunch, we'll make a quick visit to the city's National Art Gallery before heading to the outskirts of Livingstone to explore Mukuni Village, a traditional African community. Then, we'll return to your Livingstone accommodation for dinner and a good night's rest, preparing for the adventures of the next day.
Day 5: Livingstone
On this fifth day, you'll have the whole day free, which you can use to do some activities on your own, such as Rafting on the Zambezi River or bungee jumping at Victoria Falls.
As the day winds down, we'll come together for a farewell dinner at your Livingstone accommodation.
Day 6: Livingstone
On the last day, we'll enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and we'll arrange a timely pickup to take you to Livingstone Airport for your return flight.
