Grindelwald & First Mountain Excursion
Description
From Frankenstrasse 2 – 4 in Lucerne, where we'll meet at the scheduled time, we'll make our way by bus towards the Berna canton. In this region of the Swiss interior, we'll make a brief stop to be able to take photos of the alpine town of Interlaken, called such for being located between the two lakes of Thun and Brienz.
Next, we'll make our way towards one of the most beautiful towns in the region, Grindelwald awaits! When we arrive at this charming town, you'll receive your tickets for the return train to Interlaken and the tickets to be able to take the cable car up to First Mountain. Thanks to the gondola lifts, we'll be brought to a height of 2100 metres (6,889 ft). You'll be impressed by the landscape!
You'll have 3 hours of free time at First Mountain to grab a bite to eat and drink and enjoy the sheer tranquillity of the landscape. As well as this, with this cable car ticket, you'll be able to visit the First View observation platform and the Cliff Walk by Tissot suspension bridge, which extends to 40 metres (131 ft) in length.
With sufficient time, you must take the cable car back to Grindelwald. You'll also be able to explore this town on your own accord, but please keep in mind that the return train to Interlaken will depart at the scheduled time on your ticket. From Interlaken, we'll return by bus to the meeting point in Lucerne, where we'll bring this trip to an end after 10 hours together.
Activities at First Mountain
At the summit of the First Mountain you'll be able to enjoy the following optional activities:
First Flyer Zipline
This zipline is located 800 metres (2,624 ft) above the ground and reaches 84 kilometres an hour (52 mph), covering the distance that separates First Mountain and the Schreckelf Station.

First Glider Zipline
With this activity, the itinerary is the same as the previous activity, but the zipline is in the shape of an eagle and allows for 4 people to ride together.

First Mountain Car
This pedal-powered vehicle will take you from First Mountain to the station in Bort. This route is around 3 kilometres long (1.86 miles) and is perfect for discovering the stunning landscape of the area.
Availability: from the 1st of May 2024 until the 27th of October 2024.
Trottibike Scooter
This is a type of electric bike that you can use to get from First Mountain to Grindelwald Station.
Availability: from the 1st of May 2024 until the 27th of October 2024.
Guide
This tour is partially guided, as the guide will be present on the bus ride from Lucerne to Grindelwald, and the road trip from Interlaken to Lucerne.
During both the free time periods in Grindelwald and First Mountain as well as on the train journey from Grindelwald to Interlaken, please keep in mind that a guide will not be present. However, necessary information will be passed onto you so that you can enjoy these locations on your own accord.
