Lucca Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Piazzale Giuseppe Verdi to begin this guided tour that will lead us to discover the main monuments of Lucca. Let's go!
During our guided tour, we'll walk through the imposing historic center declared a World Heritage Site and discover why Lucca is known as the City of 100 Towers & 100 Churches while admiring its most emblematic buildings.
Did you know that Lucca's walls have remained almost intact since the 16th century? The absence of war in the city has allowed these medieval fortifications to remain in a perfect state of preservation.
We'll continue the tour by visiting the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, one of the most famous places in Lucca. The square owes its curious shape to the Roman amphitheater that stood on this site in the 2nd century.
We'll also walk along Via Fillungo, where we'll find buildings like the Torre delle Ore and the Church of San Cristoforo. As we make our way through the city, we'll be sure to also tell you about the significance of Lucca in the history of music, since the famous composer of La bohème, Giacomo Puccini, was born here.
We'll end our guided tour of Lucca next to the Lucca Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Martin after 2 hours together.
