When booking, you can choose between the following options:
Salt Mine Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Loulé salt mine and start a guided tour inside. We'll first take an elevator that will take us down 754.5 ft (230 meters) deep!
Then, we'll step out onto the saline floor and follow a circular path through some of the mine's galleries. During the visit, we'll admire the enormous size and beauty of its walls, formed by salt rocks of various colors. Did you know that they were formed more than 230 million years ago?
We'll also learn about the salt extraction process and about the evolution of the engineering and mining machinery that has been used to carry out this hard work.
Finally, after 1.5 hours of exploring the Loulé salt mine, we'll end the tour by returning outside.
Salt Mine Tour + Art Exhibition
With this option, in addition to the guided tour of the Loulé salt mine, you'll also enjoy an exhibition of Santa Barbara, the Patron Saint of Miners and Other Arts. This collection is located in one of the galleries of the mine.
Here you can see sculptures, paintings, and religious pieces related to her worshippers. You'll also learn about the techniques used to create these works of art from all over the world, as well as their incredible value!

Depending on the option chosen, you'll be able to visit the exhibition at the following times:
- Salt Mine Tour: at 9:30 am, 11 am, 2:30 pm, and 4 pm
- Salt Mine Tour + Art Exhibition: at 10 am and 3 pm
