Glass Bottom Boat Tour
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at Shoreline Village Drive at the indicated time. There, we'll board a glass bottom boat and embark on this unforgettable journey. All aboard!
As we set sail through the Port of Long Beach in search of marine life, we'll see the thriving ecosystems in the port of Long Beach up close. How much do you know about Long Beach's marine wildlife?
We'll also explore the so-called "shallow water habitat" near the breakwall, where we'll get to admire fish swimming below and around the boat. Throughout the tour, we'll learn about the effects of water pollution on underwater wildlife, and why pollution prevention is vital to their survival.
Next, we'll pass by the kelp beds, areas with a large amount of seaweed. What will we see hiding in there? Keep your eyes peeled!
As we cruise through Long Beach Harbor, we'll sail past the iconic RMS Queen Mary, which has been retired in Long Bay since 1967. We'll hear about this vessel's long history as we sail by.
Finally, after an hour of discovering the ecosystems thriving in the Port of Long Beach, above and underneath the waterline, we'll come back to dry land and bring the tour to an end.
