Los Angeles Free Tour
Welcome to the City of Angels! We'll meet at the corner of W General Thaddeus Kosciuszko Way with South Grand Ave and kick off our free tour of Los Angeles.
First, our friendly guide will begin telling us about the history of California and L.A. For example, did you know the state owes its name to a Spanish legend from the 16th century?
Following our brief introduction, we'll walk to our first stop: the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Throughout the tour, we'll see how the arts play a vital role in the city. From here, we'll stroll through the Museum of Contemporary Arts gardens and California Plaza, both spots highlight the city's commitment to providing green spaces for its residents.
Next, we'll keep walking to Pershing Square, surrounded by towering skyscrapers. We'll pass by as we go to see the Angels Flight Railway, a historic cable car that's right next to the Grand Central Market. On top of being a cultural hub, L.A. boasts a colorful food scene that we'll experience firsthand in the market.
Our next stop will be at the Los Angeles City Hall building as we walk to Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, also called La Placita. The latter is one of the oldest churches in the city.
Then, we'll head to Placita Olvera where we'll find statues of Philip of Neve and Charles III, key contributors to the founding of the city. At this final stop, we'll bring our walking tour to an end, 2 hours later.
