Canipole Cave Painting Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Loreto and drive by minibus to the San Francisco mountain range. Here, you'll find one of the most important sets of cave paintings in the state of Baja California Sur. Let's go!
Once we've arrived, we'll start a hike that'll take us to the heart of the mountains to visit the Canipole Caves. During this 45-minute walk, we'll admire the local flora and fauna and we'll learn a lot of curiosities about the area!
We'll journey back in time, learning about how people lived in these lands before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors and missionaries. We'll also learn about how the Native American hunting tribes were organized and, of course, admire the cave art of the Canipole caves.
While looking at the cave drawings, we'll learn why they're so important and why they need to be preserved. Do you know the difference between a petroglyph and a pictograph? You'll find out on the tour!
Finally, after 2 hours of excursion, we'll return to the minibus and conclude the activity by dropping you back off at your hotel.
