“Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and caldron bubble. Fillet of a fenny snake, in the caldron boil and bake…” William Shakespeare. Discover the secrets behind the witches of London and their history on this  Witches and Witchcraft History Free Tour. This 2-hour-long historic guided tour tells a fascinating side of London’s history that is hardly ever mentioned, you'll see London through different eyes.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Tower Hill Station, outside the exit just by Trinity Square Gardens, to start our Witches and Witchcraft History walking tour of London. We'll learn about the witches of all forms and varieties that walked the isles of Britain and have been the topic of folklore and history for thousands of years. We'll discover more about witches and in particular the witches of London, with stories of bizarre practices and occurrences, anecdotes, and a look at the unjust treatment of people thought to be witches by both witches and people who adored them or feared them.

Once we´re all ready to go we'll head towards the Tower of London (Tower Hill side), passing by the Ancient Roman Wall on our way. As we walk around the tower, we'll see All Hallows by the Tower, a church from 675! We'll then reach the river side of the Tower of London.

Our next sight will be the London Timeline Mural, before admiring the part of the river between Southwark Bridge and Millennium Bridge. When we arrive at Millenium Bridge, we'll be right opposite Shakespeare's Globe, which is a reconstruction of Shakespeare's original Globe from 1599.

Finally, after 2.5 hours of discovering the hidden side of London's history, we'll end our tour by arriving at St Paul's Cathedral.
