Join us for a day trip to Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle, which also includes a panoramic bus tour of London's iconic landmarks, including Big Ben and Trafalgar Square.
Day Trip Details
Our adventure will begin at Bulleid Way, Victoria in London, where we'll board a bus and start our day with a sightseeing bus tour of London, taking in the city's most iconic landmarks.
As we pass through Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square, we'll get a good look at Big Ben and the lively atmosphere of Piccadilly. We'll also drive by Hyde Park Corner and Kensington, giving you a snapshot of London's history and culture from the comfort of the bus.
Next, we'll head to Hampton Court Palace. Upon arrival, a host will welcome us and provide an overview before you explore on your own. You'll have 2 hours to explore the Palace as you wish. This impressive palace, located in the borough of Richmond upon Thames, was built in 1515 and became a luxurious retreat for Henry VIII in 1530.
While there, you'll get to explore the State Rooms and the Tudor Kitchens. Don't forget to take a stroll through the beautiful gardens and navigate the oldest surviving maze in the world!
Afterwards, we'll make our way to Windsor Castle, a favourite weekend residence of the Royal Family and the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Henry VIII also cherished this grand site, where you can pay your respects at his tomb alongside Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II, and other royals.
Here, you'll be able to see the impressive State Apartments and visit St George's Chapel, the venue for Harry and Meghan’s iconic 2018 wedding. Be sure to see Queen Mary's Dolls' House, featuring running water, electricity, and intricate items crafted by over 1,500 skilled artisans of the 20th century. As you explore these historic halls, keep an eye out for rare artworks by renowned artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.
The stop in Windsor Castle will last a total of 3.5 hours. If you don't choose the option including entrance to the castle, you can walk around the surrounding area, or take time to grab something to eat or drink.
Finally, after a total of 7 hours, we'll end the tour back in London and drop you off at Gloucester Road Underground Station.
