Spend the day discovering the historic, charming, and unspoilt villages in southwest England with this The Cotswolds & Blenheim Palace Day Trip from London. You'll also enjoy a traditional pub lunch.
The Cotswolds & Blenheim Palace Day Trip
We'll meet at 8:30 am in Bulleid Way, just by Victoria Station in London, and board a coach to the beautiful English countryside.
During the trip, you'll enjoy the picturesque views and tranquillity of the Cotswolds, named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The tour will take us through some of the 6 different counties within the Cotswolds, including Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. We'll explore the charming medieval villages and bustling market towns, such as Burford and Stow-on-the-Wood, with the unforgettable backdrop of the rolling hills.
One of the must-see villages will be Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds and voted as one of the prettiest villages in England on numerous occasions. Don't forget your camera! We'll stop for an hour in this quaint location. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a two-course lunch at a traditional British pub.
Following that, the tour will take us to Blenheim Palace. The striking country house in Oxfordshire, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the residence of the Dukes of Malborough and famously the birthplace of Winston Churchill. Step back in time as you spend two hours touring the Baroque-style palace. You can admire the spectacular State Rooms, the impressive landscaped gardens and Blenheim Lake.
While at the 'finest view in England,' as claimed by Lord Randolph Churchill, you'll have the chance to get an insight into life behind the scenes for Winston Churchill with the exclusive exhibition. You'll see where he was born, a lock of his hair, the formal gardens, and parkland where he proposed to his wife, as well as many artifacts and photographs while listening to curious facts.
The tour will arrive back in London at approximately 7 pm. Depending on traffic conditions, you'll be dropped off in either Victoria or Kensington (Gloucester Road).
