Traditional Sasak Village Private Tour
Sasak Village Private Tour
After being picked up from your hotel in Lombok, you'll begin your exploration of the Indonesian island's most deep-rooted culture. Many claim that the local Sasak people are descended from an ancient Malay civilisation who lived on the isle more than 2000 years ago.
To get to know more about these people and their fascinating culture, you'll visit various Sasak villages, starting with Banyumulek, where we'll have the opportunity to gain an insight into the ceramic making process.
You'll also get to visit Sukara, where you'll have the privilege of getting to watch local artisans weaving beautifully coloured fabrics using their traditional method.
Leaving Sukara, you'll set off to visit a typical home in Sade. The houses built and lived in by the Sasak people are constructed from straw, bamboo, and other natural materials which will be revealed to you during your tour... Exploring these different vibrant villages and meeting the people that live there in the same way that their ancestors did in centuries past, you'll truly feel as though this is a place where time has stood still.
For the finishing touch on your day trip, you'll be taken to Kuta Lombok and Tanjung An, two of Lombok's paradise beaches, where you'll enjoy a well-earned break while you take in the incredible beauty of the island.
Finally, you'll be dropped back off at your hotel.
