Montserrat Day Trip Itinerary
On the day of the tour, we'll set off from Lloret de Mar toward the Montserrat massif, the most famous in Catalonia. To get to the base of the mountain, we will take a bus ride that'll last about an hour and a half.
Once at the foot of Montserrat, we will board the rack railway. After enjoying a 20-minute ride and spectacular views of the surroundings, we will begin exploring & learning about the history of the place, but first, we will taste a liqueur made by the monks who live in the abbey.
You'll then have free time to explore the monastery, constructed between curious rock formations whose origins have an interesting story behind them, and visit the famous venerated statue of the Virgin of Montserrat that is said to have been found in a cave.
There will be free time until 3 pm for you to eat in one of the restaurants in the area before you make the return journey to Lloret de Mar.
