Private Walking Tour of Liverpool
At the selected time, we'll meet in Pier Head, a riverside location where we'll find "The Three Graces" of Liverpool, the perfect start to our private walking tour!
"The Three Graces" are a group of 3 iconic buildings that were built in the early 1900s, including the Port of Liverpool Building, the Cunard Building, and the Royal Liver Building. As we admire these stately buildings, we'll learn about the city's humble beginnings and the important commercial expansion in the early 18th century.
Strolling along the banks of the River Mersey, we'll also find the Museum of Liverpool, the first UK museum to be dedicated to the history of one city. With this avant-garde building as a backdrop, we'll talk about why Liverpool was known as the "New York of Europe".
And, of course, it wouldn't be a proper tour of Liverpool without talking about one of its most famous bands of all time: The Beatles! We'll learn about the musical movement that influenced this iconic band and find out how they got their start at the legendary Cavern Club.
On our tour, we'll also pass by St. George's Hall, an impressive neoclassical building and an icon of Liverpool’s architectural heritage. Then, we'll stroll through the lovely St. John's Gardens, pass by the Walker Art Gallery, and see Wellington Column.
Finally, we'll end our tour after 2 hours of exploring the history of this cosmopolitan city.
