On this tour from Lisbon, we'll experience Portugal's vast cultural heritage by visiting four of its most interesting villages: Tomar, Batalha, and Alcobaça.
Description
At 9 am, we'll meet at Praça Marquês de Pombal in Lisbon. From there, we'll travel through the landscapes of Ribatejo until we reach Tomar. In this town, we'll visit the Convent of Christ, located inside the walls of the Templar castle and one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites that we'll visit during the tour.
Next, we'll go to Batalha, where we'll see the monastery, its most emblematic monument, which was chosen as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and declared a World Heritage Site. After this visit, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch at a local restaurant - it's time to refuel!
After free time, we'll continue the tour until we reach the Monastery of Alcobaça, which dates back to the 12th century. There, we'll tell you all about its founder, the first Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques. Due to its size, the simplicity of its style, the quality of the materials, and the care with which it was built, it was also declared a World Heritage Site in 1989.
After 8 hours, we'll end the tour back at the meeting point.
