Obidos Day Trip
Obidos Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Marquês de Pombal Square to leave Lisbon behind and head for Alcobaça, a town full of love stories.
Upon arrival, you'll have one hour of free time to visit the Monastery of Alcobaça, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most special places in the town. You'll be able to go back to the 12th century to discover the secrets of its architecture and learn why it's known as the capital of the history of the Cistercian Order in Portugal.
After this visit, we'll head to Óbidos. Once in our destination, you'll have free time to visit the town at your leisure. You'll also be able to discover the main monuments and walk through the cobbled streets of this beautiful Portuguese town.
Be sure to check out the famous wall that surrounds the city is a must and the same goes for its 13th-century castle. Did you know that this fortress is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal? And it makes sense, considering its location on a hilltop, the views from up there, and how well-preserved it is.
Lastly, we'll return to the bus after 3.5 hours and drop you off at the starting point in Lisbon 6 hours later.
