Lisbon Oceanarium Ticket
An Aquarium in Parque das Nações
The heart of the Parque das Nações houses the Lisbon Oceanarium, which was inaugurated during the Expo '98 with the slogan "The Oceans: A Heritage for the Future."
Built by the architect Peter Chermayeff, this aquarium has been awarded as one of the best aquariums in the world and the second largest in Europe. Inside, you'll find over 15000 fascinating creatures of 500 marine species, among which you'll see ocean sun fish, manta rays, stingrays, sea otters, and sharks.
What's Included?
The Lisbon Oceanarium has become a very popular cultural attraction in Portugal and is visited by approximately one thousand people per year. With this ticket, you'll be able to explore all of its spaces, including its permanent and temporary exhibitions. It's the perfect experience for the whole family!
What to See in the Lisbon Oceanarium
During approximately 2 hours, you'll discover among many rooms the main attraction of the aquarium's permanent exhibition: a large central tank where tuna, seahorses, unicorn fish, and many more species that live in the ocean swim. Did you know that the aquarium's tanks contain 7 million liters of water? Impressive!
Another wonderful feature of the Lisbon Oceanarium is the recreation of various unique marine ecosystems, such as the rocky coast of the North Atlantic or the coral reefs of the Indian Ocean, the coastline of the Antarctic, and the kelp forest of the Pacific Ocean.
If you have more time in the city, we recommend this combo ticket for the Lisbon sightseeing bus and the Oceanarium.
