Looking to explore the Portuguese capital without climbing the seven hills? Join us for a tour of Lisbon's funiculars, and see a different side of the city!

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the main entrance of the Rossio train station. Are you ready to explore Lisbon's funiculars? Although these transportation methods run on rails, they are not to be confused with the city's famous trams, as they are more similar to funicular railways.

Our walking tour of Lisbon begins with a visit to the Lavra Funicular, the oldest in the Portuguese capital, boasting over 130 years of history! After a ride up in this panoramic elevator, we’ll head to the Torel Garden viewpoint to take in extraordinary views. From there, we’ll stroll down the historic Rua de Santa Marta.

Next, we’ll continue our journey through Lisbon to the Elevador de Gloria. This iconic 19th-century funicular will take us to the San Pedro de Alcantara viewpoint, offering a fantastic view of São Jorge Castle.

After soaking in the views, we’ll make our way along Rua Cor-de-Rosa to the Bica Funicular, which connects the riverside district of Cais do Sodré with the Bairro Alto neighborhood. Prepare yourself for a magical sunset over Lisbon, a sight you won’t forget!

Finally, after 2.5 hours of sightseeing, we’ll conclude the tour in the Ribeira Market area or Rua do Poço dos Negros.
