Visit one of the most famous Aeolian Islands on this excursion from Lipari. Enjoy a pleasant cruise in the Tyrrhenian Sea, then take a mud bath or go hiking - explore Vulcano at your own pace!
Vulcano Excursion
45 minutes before the indicated time, we'll meet at Piazza di Marina Corta in Lipari and head to the pier where a boat awaits to take us to Vulcano. All aboard!
On board the boat, we'll skirt the Vulcanello peninsula, connected to the northern part of the island of Vulcano. Did you know that these two territories were separated until the 16th century? Different volcanic eruptions throughout history have brought these lands together.
Continuing on our cruise through the Tyrrhenian Sea, we'll admire the surroundings of the island. You'll see sea caves, black sand beaches, the town of Gelso and the great volcano that sits in the middle of the island of Vulcano. You won't be able to stop taking pictures!
As an added bonus, if the weather is favorable, we'll make a stop or two to enjoy a nice dip in the open sea!
Once we disembark on the island, you'll have two hours of free time to have lunch and explore to your heart's content. If you like hiking, trek your way up the Gran Cratere della Fossa and check out its famous fumaroles. If you are in the mood for a quieter plan, don't miss a visit to the bubbling mud baths of Porto di Levante, said to have therapeutic properties!
After 2 hours of exploring at your own pace, we'll regroup at the boat and return to the starting point, where we'll arrive 8 hours after the start of the tour.
