Take advantage of your trip to Lipari to visit the two westernmost Aeolian Islands. On this excursion, you'll enjoy the rural tranquility of Alicudi and visit the archaeological sites of Filicudi!
Alicudi & Filicudi Excursion
45 minutes before the indicated time, we'll meet at Piazza di Marina Corta in Lipari, board the boat and set sail for a day of exploration.
We'll start our cruise along the coast of Lipari to admire the Faraglioni di Lipari emerging from the sea - a postcard-worthy image that's even more enchanting in person! As the boat approaches the island of Filicudi, you'll also be able to check out the famous Grotta del Bue Marino, the largest sea cave in the Aeolian archipelago.
Then we'll dock at the port of Filicudi and leave you two hours of free time to explore the island and grab some lunch. If you're passionate about history, be sure to visit the archaeological site of Capo Graziano, where you can explore the remains of an ancient Neolithic settlement. You can also go to one of the island's many viewpoints to admire La Canna, a volcanic cliff standing over 80 meters tall.
After free time, we'll get back on the boat and head for the westernmost of the Aeolian Islands, Alicudi. From the moment we arrive, you'll experience the serene vibe of this small volcanic island. Home to only 150 people, this island doesn't even have roads! Instead, the villages of this oasis are connected by a network of trails. Ready to explore?
For two hours, you'll have free time to discover the island at your leisure. You can go to the village of San Bartolomé and visit the church that houses the patron saint of the archipelago. The temple, located at a height of 330 meters (1082 ft) above sea level, offers incredible views of the island's surroundings. You can also go to the area of Contrada Tonna to check out its charming rural houses. It's up to you!
At the end of the excursion, we'll return to Lipari, arriving 9 hours after the start of the tour.
