Villa El Salvador Tour
Villa El Salvador Tour
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lima's suburbs, where we'll start our tour of Villa El Salvador.
Villa El Salvador is one of the largest districts found in the outskirts of the Peruvian capital and is also one of the most densely populated. This neighbourhood is characterised by its diversity, as people from Quechua, Aymara and Amazonian indigenous communities and people of African descent make up its population.
During our tour, we'll also visit one of the community's favourite restaurants. This restaurant owes its popularity to its prices, which are affordable for the middle-class population that live and work here. While we're here, we'll also learn about the different social projects that the Peruvian government has enacted.
One of these projects is the newly opened Centro de Madera y Muebles para el hogar. This space offers different wood products and furniture for low-income families. We'll also admire the colourful street art scattered around this neighbourhood.
Our next stop will be at a traditional handicraft shop, where we'll find decorative objects in a variety of styles. You'll have some time here to browse the merchandise and purchase souvenirs.
We'll then start our return journey back to central Lima. During the trip back, you'll look out at beautiful views of the Lurín Valley and the Pacific Ocean. We'll arrive back at your hotel between 1:30 pm and 2 pm.
