Description
Day 1: Lima
When you land in Lima, we'll be waiting for you in the arrivals lounge at the airport. After we've taken you to your hotel, you'll have the rest of the day free to rest after your trip and start exploring the city.
Day 2: Lima
Good morning! After you've had breakfast at the hotel, we'll start a jam-packed tour of Lima. You'll learn all about Lima, from its colonial area to its more modern side. We'll visit lots of places, such as the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, Huaca Pucllana, the Plaza de Armas, the Larco Museum, and the Convent of Santo Domingo.
After a 3.5-hour tour, we'll return to the hotel. You'll be able to spend the rest of the day exploring the Peruvian capital at your leisure.
Day 3: Lima - Cusco
Early in the morning, but after breakfast, you'll be dropped off at Jorge Chavez Airport to catch your flight to Cusco. Upon landing, we'll be waiting for you and take you to the hotel to rest. Afterward, you'll have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the city on your own.
You can wander around Cusco at your leisure and visit iconic sites like the San Pedro market, the Koricancha Temple, the Sacsayhuaman Fortress and the archaeological site of Q'enko. Don't miss the Plaza de Armas, home to the Cusco Cathedral, the most important Catholic temple in the city.
Day 4: Cusco - Moray & Maras - Sacred Valley
After breakfast at the hotel, we'll travel to the salt mines of Maras. Did you know that the finest salt in the world is extracted here? We'll visit the impressive salt quarries and discover the importance of this place for the country's economy.
Afterwards, we'll head to Moray, a fascinating archaeological site in the middle of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We'll visit its imposing concentric terraces, used by the Incas as a botanical laboratory.
To complete the day, we'll visit the community of Misminay, where the local inhabitants will welcome us with a performance of their typical dances and music. In Misminay, we'll discover the local handicrafts, as well as the hard work of planting and harvesting.
Finally, we'll take you to the hotel in Sacred Valley, where we'll spend the night.
Day 5: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco
We'll fuel up for the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then set off for the world-famous Machu Picchu. Here, we'll take a guided tour of the legendary Inca citadel and see iconic places such as the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwanata, the Sacred Rock, and the Temple of the Three Windows.
After an unforgettable visit to one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, we'll return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch in a local restaurant. We'll then take the Expedition train to Ollantaytambo and make our way back to Cusco, where we'll spend the night.
Day 6: Cusco
You'll have breakfast at the hotel and then have the whole day free to explore Cusco or its surroundings on your own. If you want, you can visit Rainbow Mountain or the Humantay Lagoon. Both are must-sees!
Day 7: Cusco - Puno
After breakfast, we'll head over to the bus station in Cusco, where we'll board a sightseeing bus to Puno. On the way, we'll discover the fascinating landscapes found south of Cusco, as well as the village of Andahuaylillas and the ruins of Raqchi, also known as the Temple of the God Wiracocha. Finally, you'll visit La Raya, the highest point on the road between Cusco and Puno, where you'll get excellent panoramic views.
Our day will finish at the hotel in Puno, where you'll rest after the day's sightseeing.
Day 8: Puno - Copacabana - Isla del Sol
We'll have breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Copacabana. During our journey, we'll pass by Lake Titicaca and admire incredible panoramic views of the highest navigable lake in the world. When we arrive in this Bolivian town, we'll see its church and take a boat across Lake Titicaca to see Hucani and the Inca Temple of Pillkukayna.
Finally, we'll reach Isla del Sol, the place where the Incas chose to build temples in honor of the Sun God. We'll spend the night in this unique and special place.
Day 9: Isla del Sol - La Paz
Our ninth day will begin in a truly magical way, as we'll have breakfast while watching the sunrise over Lake Titicaca. We'll then take a tour of the iconic Yumani Inca steps and discover, among many other things, the Fountain of Eternal Youth.
We'll get back on the boat and visit the ruins of Chincana and the Sacred Rock, the Island of the Moon, and, finally, Copacabana. From here, we'll cross the Andes Cordillera Real on our way to La Paz.
Day 10: La Paz
After breakfast, we'll take a unique guided tour of La Paz with a "lustrabota". We'll meet him at the old railway terminal of La Paz and then get on one of the city's cable car lines to start the tour.
During the tour, we'll visit the Main Cemetery of La Paz and different markets, such as Calle de los Peces, Calle de las Flores, or Uruguay. We'll also visit the Cholitas Market, where we'll see cholitas (local women) buying traditional skirts and blankets.
We'll end the half-day tour at the Witches Market, a perfect place to learn about the Andean cosmovision! Then, you'll have the rest of the afternoon free to rest at the hotel or continue exploring the attractions of La Paz.
Day 11: La Paz - Uyuni
After breakfast, we'll take you to the airport in La Paz for your flight to Uyuni. We'll be waiting for you upon arrival to take you to the Uyuni Salt Flat, one of the most spectacular places in Bolivia. Before arriving, we'll visit the Train Cemetery, where we'll see steam locomotives from the 19th and 20th centuries. Afterwards, we'll make a stop in the indigenous community of Colchani, the best place to learn about the different methods of salt extraction.
The next stop will be Incahuasi Island and the pre-Columbian fort of Pucará de Ayque.
Then, finally, we'll finish the excursion by returning to the town of Uyuni.
Day 12: Uyuni - La Paz
After breakfast, we'll accompany you to the Uyuni airport for your return to La Paz. Upon arrival in the Bolivian capital, we'll be waiting for you to take you to the hotel to rest.
In the afternoon, you can choose to take an excursion on your own to the ruins of Tiwanaku, one of the oldest centers of American culture. If you opt for this adventure, you'll see the temple of Kalasasaya, the monoliths of Ponce and Fraile, the pyramid of Akapana and the Semisubterranean temple!
Day 13: La Paz
Our adventure is over! We'll have the last breakfast of the circuit and then take you to the airport in La Paz, where we'll say goodbye after 13 days of touring the most incredible places in Peru and Bolivia.
