Nevado Raura Trekking + Churín Hot Springs
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the meeting point in Lima to begin our day trip to Nevado Raura. We'll set off for the village of Quichas, where we'll arrive after a 5.5-hour drive. Here we go!
Halfway, in the early morning, we'll make a stop in Sayán. If you want, you can get off the bus to stretch your legs. At dawn, we'll arrive in Viroc to visit its famous arch and buy some local souvenirs if you wish.
Once at our destination, we'll embark on a trekking route and ascend to 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) above sea level. On the way, we'll arrive at the Suerococha lagoon, a mystical place perfect for taking part in the Andean ceremony of Payment to the Earth. From here, you'll be able to admire the Nevado León Dormido, a jewel of the Raura Mountain Range that will leave you speechless. Then, we'll pass by the Azulcocha Lagoon, also known as the Lagoon of the Seven Colours. Its frozen waters and unique tonalities will captivate you.
After about 4 hours of hiking, we'll reach the Nevado Raura, where you'll have free time to enjoy this impressive natural environment covered in snow. Don't forget your camera!
We'll walk for another hour and a half to reach the vehicle and return to Lima. But first, we'll make a stop in Churín, so you can grab a bite to eat for lunch. After lunch, what could be better than relaxing in the hot springs of Churín? You'll have 40 minutes to enjoy the Baños de la Juventud, Mamahuarmi or Tingo—the perfect end to a perfect day!
With your batteries recharged, and your body relaxed, we'll continue our journey back to the starting point, where we'll say goodbye at around 9 pm.
