Lima Contrasts Tour
Lima Contrasts Tour
To get to know a city in all its essence, there is nothing like immersing yourself in its neighborhoods and culture. We'll pick you up at 9 am at your hotel to begin this tour of contrasts in Lima.
We'll start our visit in the Rímac district. In this humble neighborhood, we'll have the opportunity to get to know the local way of life as we explore its old streets and colonial houses.
We'll then go up to the Cerro San Cristóbal, one of the most important hills in the capital. With a height of over 300 meters, this place is an important pilgrimage destination, on top of which stands the Monumental Cross, built in 1928. If the sky is clear, we'll even be able to see San Lorenzo Island and the beaches of Chorrillos and La Punta.
Afterward, we'll move to the historical center of Lima. We'll visit Plaza de San Martín and its art nouveau buildings, and Jirón de la Unión, a street once frequented by the Peruvian aristocracy. This is a point in the city with a very special significance, as it is said that the conquistador Francisco Pizarro founded Lima here.
The tour will continue through the majestic Plaza de Armas, the seat of the executive, legislative and judicial powers, and then we'll approach the convents of Santo Domingo and San Francisco. After visiting both religious monuments, we'll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant.
To round off the tour, we'll learn how to prepare a delicious pisco sour, Lima's most typical drink. Can you think of a better ending? The tour will end taking you back at your hotel in Lima at around 5 pm.
