On this bike tour through the centre of Lima, we'll get to know the most iconic parts of the city on a cycling route which will bring us past Lima's wonderful architecture, including its charming balconies. Our route starts and ends in Miraflores, one of the most popular districts of the city.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Avenida Arequipa to pick up our bikes and helmets. From here, we'll start pedalling between the palm trees of this street and admiring the beauty of this area's colonial architecture.
We'll make our way towards Bosque El Olivar, an old hacienda of the viceroyalty with a protected area of 10 hectares (25 acres), where we'll be able to see different species of birds in their natural habitat.
During the tour, we'll pass by the National Stadium of Peru and the Lima Museum of Art, known as the MALI. We'll stop at Plaza San Martín Square to learn about the history of one of Lima's most prominent public spaces.
Then, we'll walk along the picturesque streets of Jiron de la Union, Jiron Ica and Ucayali to see the famous balconies of Lima. Afterwards, we'll pass by the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, whose catacombs are iconic!
The last stop of the tour will be at the Plaza de Armas, where we'll find the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.
Finally, we'll enjoy a coffee or a chocolate before returning to the starting point, where we'll arrive after a total of 4 hours.
