Chinatown Free Tour
We'll meet at the time of your choice at Jiron de la Union station to begin this tour of some of the most unknown areas of Lima.
The free tour will begin by walking through the streets of the historical centre of the Peruvian capital and observing its colourful buildings until we reach Lima's Chinatown. It was here where the first Chinese settlers established their residence that has become an important economic and cultural centre for this community in the city.
During the visit to the neighbourhood, we'll see a variety of shops and establishments, immersing us fully in the Chinese culture from restaurants or chifas to decoration shops for the New Year. It will seem that you have travelled to another continent without leaving Lima!
The tour will continue by taking public transport to the Presbítero Maestro cemetery. This is the cemetery for the upper classes of Lima, considered one of the richest in the world due to its crypts, mausoleums and marble pantheons.
During the XIX and XX centuries, the members of the Peruvian and foreign high society were buried in the Presbítero Maestro, where the remains of illustrious characters of the country like presidents, writers or painters rest.
After 3 hours 30 minutes discovering multiple curiosities about the capital, the tour will end in downtown Lima.
