Real Felipe Fortress and Callao Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Lima at the indicated time, we'll set off westbound for Calleo, where we'll admire some famous graffiti and galleries.
We'll continue with the tour of Callao to discover why it is considered not just the main port of Peru, but one of the most important in South America too. We will also travel back to the viceregal era while strolling through ancient streets that have been the scene of countless battles and important historical events.
Next to the elegant Plaza de la Independencia square, we will encounter the magnificent Real Felipe Fortress, one of the most outstanding architectural works of the viceregal era. It was built in the 17th century by the Spaniards to defend the city from Dutch pirates and currently houses the Peruvian Army Museum.
In addition to learning about its role as the last bastion of resistance for the Spanish forces in Peru, from here we will also enjoy spectacular views of the port and the bay. Then, we return to the bus and head to idyllic La Punta to take a walk along the beautiful seafront promenade, enjoying the main square and the surrounding wetlands.
Finally, we'll return to the hotels in Lima, where the tour ends 4 hours later.
