6-day Tour of Northern Peru

Description

Day 1: Lima

Welcome to Peru, a beautiful country with an extensive culture that is sure to captivate you! We'll pick you up at the Lima airport after you land and take you to your hotel in the capital. You'll have the rest of the day free to start exploring the city on your own.

Day  2: Lima

The second day will start with breakfast at the hotel. Afterwards, a guided tour of Lima awaits us. We'll visit the Plaza Mayor and enter the Cathedral and the Casa Aliaga, both 16th-century buildings. We'll also enter the Larco Museum, where we'll see more than 5,000 years of history! We'll then end the day by returning to the hotel.

Day 3: Lima – Trujillo

After breakfast, we'll take you back to the airport so you can catch your flight to Trujillo on your own. You'll arrive in Trujillo in just 1 hour, where you'll be picked up and driven to your hotel.

In the afternoon, we'll take a tour of Trujillo that will take us to see the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, several convents, and the Superior Court of Justice. We'll also see the Calonge House, which will catch your attention for the color of its facade, the Iturregui Palace, and the famous wall of Trujillo. Then, we'll enter the University and the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History. In the evening, we'll rest at the hotel.

Day 4: Trujillo – Huacas del Sol & de la Luna – Chan Chan – Trujillo

We'll have breakfast at the accommodation and then head to the archaeological site of the Huacas del Sol and de la Luna. Here, we'll learn all about the Moche culture and its important influence in the area. We'll also look at the amazing group of frescoes on the walls of the Temple of the Moon, and we'll arrive at the Rainbow Temple of the Chimu culture.

Then, we'll have a delicious lunch before arriving Huanchaco, where we'll admire the breathtaking beauty of the coast and the Peruvian beaches.

Our last stop will be at Chan Chan, one of the largest adobe cities in the world. Did you know that it was declared a World Heritage Site?

Finally, we'll return to the hotel in Trujillo to rest until the next day.

Day 5: Trujillo – El Brujo – Chiclayo

Rise and shine! After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your accommodation in Trujillo, we'll head to the archaeological site of El Brujo, an hour away. Pyramids, stories of mummies, and much more await us at this 5,000-year-old site. We'll have lunch on the way and finish the day by arriving at the hotel in Chiclayo.

Day 6: Chiclayo – Túcume – Lambayeque – Huaca Rajada

After breakfast, we'll visit the archaeological site of Tucume, which is more than 200 hectares in size! Afterwards, we'll go to Lambayeque to visit the Royal Tombs of the Sipan Museum. Following Lambayeque, we'll make a stop for lunch and then continue discovering the Moche culture at Huaca Rajada. Finally, at the end of the day, we'll take you to the airport in Chiclayo for your flight back home.
