Sierra de Lobos Hiking Tour
Description
We'll kick off this hiking journey through the Sierra de Lobos by meeting at the designated location on Boulevard Adolfo Lopez Mateos in Leon.
Situated approximately 50 minutes from the city, the Sierra de Lobos Natural Protected Area is a great location to immerse yourself in Guanajuato's natural beauty. This area is renowned for its oak forests, grasslands, and exceptionally scenic landscapes, including the Lajas River Canyon and Los Panales.
Upon arrival, we'll set off on foot, venturing through the grasslands of Sierra de Lobos. This route offers the perfect opportunity to explore the mountain slopes and gain insights into its rich biological diversity. Your guide will let you in on tons of fascinating fun facts about the area's flora and fauna.
We'll enjoy a well-deserved break along the Lajas River, indulging in a delicious breakfast of homemade gorditas. These traditional Mexican delights are made from corn or wheat dough, filled with a variety of savory ingredients.
Continuing our hike, we'll uncover the river's natural pools and venture into the canyon's depths to behold the immense stone monoliths known as Los Panales.
In the final leg of our excursion, we'll ascend to one of the area's viewpoints to relish unparalleled views of the Sierra de Lobos. Don't forget your camera!
Finally, we'll return to the starting point of our hike and head back to Leon, concluding our tour after five hours of adventure.
