Tour Details

At the appointed time, we'll meet on Via Umberto I in Lecce to begin this baroque tour of the city—a perfect plan for art lovers!

The tour begins in front of the Basilica of Santa Croce, a masterpiece of Lecce Baroque. Its exuberantly sculpted façade will leave you speechless, with its mythological figures, ornate columns and intricate details.

From here, we'll head to Piazza Sant'Oronzo, the heart of Lecce. In this emblematic square, we'll discover the Roman Column, the ancient Roman Amphitheater, which still retains its majesty, and the Palazzo del Sedile.

Strolling along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, surrounded by elegant historic palaces, we'll arrive at the Church of Sant'Irene. There, we'll admire its imposing façade and its interior full of frescoes and baroque details.

The highlight of this part of the tour will be the Piazza Duomo, one of the most impressive enclosed squares in Italy. Here, we'll marvel at the monumental ensemble composed of the Cathedral of Lecce, its majestic Bell Tower, the Archbishop's Palace and the Seminary.

To conclude the tour, we'll visit the underground Jewish Museum of Lecce. This hidden space reveals the presence of a thriving Jewish community that flourished in the city until the 16th century. We'll explore the remains of a medieval synagogue and a mikveh, the space where purification baths are performed in Judaism.

After an insightful 2 hours, we'll bring the tour to an end.
