Snowy peaks, a jaw-dropping observatory and a world-famous chocolate museum are just a few of the things on offer in Jungfraujoch, a Swiss glacier saddle that lies at 3,463 metres (11,361 feet) above sea level.
In order to reach this fascinating destination, you'll need to take two rack railway trains. First off, you'll travel from Lauterbrunnen Railway Station to Kleine Scheidegg. After that, you'll hop on a train to Jungfraujoch. Grab a window seat and prepare to be amazed by the views!
You'll arrive at your destination after approximately two hours. Time to kick back and let loose!
What to Do at Jungfraujoch?
Admission to a number of local attractions is included with your ticket:
- The Sphinx Observatory: a panoramic terrace with views of the Aletsch glacier and the surrounding mountains.
- Alpine Sensation: a unique space inside a rock, which houses an exhibition on the history of the Jungfraujoch, as well as a gigantic glass snow globe.
- The Ice Palace: a glacial tunnel filled with ice sculptures.
- Aletsch Glacier: a large area where you can play winter sports.
- Lindt Shop-Museum: dedicated to one of the most prestigious Swiss chocolate brands.
Once you're in Jungfraujoch, you can also book your own tickets to the Snow Fun Park, an exciting snow park with zip lines and various attractions. Please note that this leisure centre is only open between mid-June and October, and is subject to changes.
