Interlaken + Harder Kulm Day Trip
Meet us in front of the Lausanne Aquatis Vennes Aquarium, and from here, we'll head straight toward Canton of Bern region.
After a brief 2-hour journey, we'll arrive along the banks of the Aar River to find Harderbahn station. Here we'll give you the tickets to ride up the funicular railway. This unique mode of transport will take you to the Harder Kulm lookout point station. In just 10 short minutes, you'll reach 1,322 meters (4,337 feet) above sea level!
From this privileged vantage point, considered one of the most beautiful in Switzerland, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Bernese Alps, Interlaken, and the two lakes that border the city: the Brienzersee and the Thunersee.
Then, having taken in the full breadth of the beauty at these altitudes, you'll come back down via the funicular. Once at the bottom, we'll pick you up at the entrance to the railway and make our way over to the historic downtown area of Interlaken. Here, you'll have the rest of the day free to explore the city and sample traditional flavors.
Our personal favorites and recommendations are the commercial streets, lined with a wide variety of Helvetic products such as pocket knives and cuckoo clocks. Then, to satiate any building hunger, don't forget to indulge in some Swiss culinary specialties. For example, try the local chocolate shops or restaurants for a traditional fondue.
Finally, we'll pick you up from downtown Interlaken to make our return trip back to Lausanne where we'll arrive about 12 hours later.
