Alpine landscapes, Australian wildlife and incredible landscapes await you on this tour to Cradle Mountain National Park from Launceston—the perfect experience for nature lovers and those who love nature's tranquility!

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Launceston at the appointed time and head south-west through green pastures and along the majestic mountains of the Great Western Tiers. During the journey, we'll pass through the historic villages of Carrick, Hagley, and Westbury, as well as the town of Deloraine, famous for its arts and crafts.

Our first stop will be Sheffield, known as the town of murals. Here, we'll take a 30-minute walk to admire more than 140 works of art, that decorate the buildings and tell the story of the history and character of the Cradle Mountain region. You'll be amazed!

Continue the tour to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, where we'll learn all the secrets of the national park. We'll explore the exhibits, stroll through the native gardens and take a short walk along the Enchanted Forest Walk, which will lead us to a small pine forest and a dreamy waterfall.

Later, we'll arrive at the iconic Dove Lake, where we'll take a 1-hour guided tour. This tour will give you breathtaking views of Cradle Mountain, one of Tasmania's World Heritage gems. We'll walk along Glacier Rock and explore a quartz beach while marvelling at the grandeur of this natural environment.

Afterward, we'll visit the Ashgrove Cheese Dairy Door Cheese Farm. Here, we'll learn about the process of making Tasmanian cheeses and sample the delicious varieties. After the visit, we'll have lunch in a hut in the park.

Refreshed, we'll continue our exploration of Cradle Mountain. A walk through the magical Weindorfers Forest will allow us to soak up the serenity and biodiversity of the place. Along the way we'll be on the lookout for wombats, wallabies, and potaroos, the park's most endearing inhabitants.

Finally, we'll return to Launceston and drop you off at your hotel, where we'll say goodbye about 10 hours later.
