Activities in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Teror, Roque Nublo & Bandama Caldera Excursion

  • 516 reviews | 2,832 travellers
A beautiful excursion through the green interior of the island, with numerous viewpoints from the highest hills to wide valleys. Finally, a stop in Teror, a picturesque pilgrimage site. We learned a lot about the history, culture and vegetation along the way. The coach driver drove safely through the mountainous landscape.

Teror, Roque Nublo & Bandama Caldera Excursion

Between 9:10 and 9:45 am, we'll pick you up from your preferred meeting point in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. From there, we'll travel by minibus to the highest peaks of the island to visit the Bandama Caldera.

Stopping at a viewpoint, we'll enjoy fantastic views of this volcanic cone and its caldera. Bandama Caldera is the island's youngest volcano, taking its name from Daniel Van Damme, one of the Flemish settlers who populated this region in the 16th century.

After getting our fill of photos of this natural monument, we'll move on to the beautiful municipality of San Mateo, where we'll take a stroll through its old town. If your excursion is on a Saturday, we'll even explore the town's large flea market full of Canarian products!

Then we'll make our way to Pico de las Nieves, the highest point in Gran Canaria, where you'll be mesmerized by extraordinary views. Next, we'll travel to a viewpoint where you'll see incredible views of Roque Nublo, one of the most emblematic symbols of the island. As you admire this great volcanic rock, we'll tell you all about how and when it was formed.

Continuing on our adventure to the peaks of Gran Canaria, we'll visit the Cruz de Tejeda Parador. Standing at an altitude of more than 1500 meters, this spot offers beautiful views of the ravines and mountains below. In addition to the scenery, we'll also enjoy cheese, olives and nuts that the stall owners will let us sample. You'll have an hour of free time to grab a bite to eat in Cruz de Tejeda.

The last stop of the day will be in the village of Teror. We'll go on a brief guided tour of this beautiful village, home of the patron saint of the island.

At the end of the excursion, we'll take you back to your starting point, arriving between 4:45 pm and 5:15 pm.
