Calcurrupe River Kayak Tour
Calcurrupe River Kayak Tour
The name of the Calcurrupe River comes from the ancient Mapudungun language and means path or path of the sorcerer. We'll begin this adventure that will take us along it by meeting at 9:30 am at the Los Llolles port, located in the basin of the Maihue Lake.
After getting equipped with life jackets and receiving a brief safety briefing, we'll get into the kayaks and paddle downstream following the flow of the Calcurrupe, which joins the Maihue and Ranco lakes.
We'll paddle for about 15 kilometres (9,3 miles), encountering some easy-to-negotiate rapids, while enjoying the fresh air and the beauty of the mountain scenery. During the trip, we'll have the opportunity to observe some of the native birds of Chile's lake areas, such as the heron, the cormorant or the kingfisher.
Halfway along the way, we'll stop at a river beach to enjoy a delicious lunch of roasted meat on a stick, a traditional culinary technique called 'asado'. We'll accompany the Asado with fried empanadas and organic vegetables from the garden.
From this beach we'll take the driver of your group to pickup your vehicle, so that they can come back for you. We'll say goodbye here at approximately 5 pm.
