Uncover the rich history of the Maltese capital with a free tour of La Valletta! Discover iconic sites like St. George's Plaza.
Description
Let's meet at the Malta Parliament building to kick off our free tour of Valletta. Get ready to stroll the downtown streets full of history, leading us to the most emblematic stops in this city, known as an "open-air museum"—so keep your cameras ready.
Have you ever wondered how the Knights of the Order of St. John arrived in Valletta? We'll find out as we come to a stop in front of the Auberge de Castille and d'Italie! The facades of these buildings, constructed in the 16th century, will take us on a journey into Malta's rich past.
We'll also learn about local gastronomy as we pass through the Victory Kitchen and Merchant Street and get to know the commercial side of the city. Did you know this street is also the filming location of several different productions? We'll tell you which, along the way!
On the tour, we'll also see the Church of Santiago and St. John's Co-Cathedral, both constructed by the Knights of the Order of St. John. As we come to the end of our route, we'll share with you all sorts of fun facts about the city's hidden gems, like where to find the best sweets!
Then, after about 2 hours, we'll bring our free tour of Valletta to an end.
Groups
We don't accept reservations on our free tours for groups of more than 5 people, even if you book separately.
