On this tour through the villages of the Rioja coast, we'll explore the most beautiful towns in the region, including Agua Blanca, Las Peñas, and Chuquis!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in La Rioja before heading to one of the most remarkable areas of the Argentine province - the so-called Riojan coast, which indeed does not have any coastline to speak of. The reason for this will be revealed during our tour!
We'll first pass through Las Padercitas, Quebrada, and Túnel. We we'll also see the Los Sauces dam and the town of Sanagasta, characterised by its low-lying houses and narrow roads, giving it a truly unique landscape.
Our tour will then bring us to the caves of Salamanca and Valle del Huaco. Here, we'll cross the homonymous slope, bringing us through a number of picturesque villages lying at the foot of the Sierra del Velazsco - Agua Blanca, Las Las Peñas, and Chuquis, where we'll make a stop at Castro Barros' house museum.
We'll continue our tour along the coast of La Rioja, visiting the beautiful towns of Pinchas, Aminga and Anillaco, before finally returning to your hotel in La Rioja about 5 hours after pickup.
Depending on the conditions and the roads, we can make our return trip on the mountain road or past the Señor de La Peña, a huge solitary rock that resembles the head of Christ. Every Holy Week, thousands of pilgrims from all regions of Argentina gather here.
