Fuentes de Invierno Snowshoeing Tour
At 11 am, we'll meet at the La Braña restaurant, located in the Asturian village of La Raya. From there, we'll start an exciting snowshoeing tour around the Fuentes de Invierno ski resort.
First of all, we'll give you a safety briefing and explain how to walk in the snowshoes. We'll then walk for almost 2 miles (3 kilometres) around the base of either Ausentes or Torres Peak, depending on the weather.
During this route through a winter wonderland, you'll learn how to move smoothly in this snowy terrain. We'll ascend through trails of pristine snow as we head into the valley and glacial cirque of this mountain pass and walk past vegetation and peat bogs covered with a soft snowy blanket.
As well as getting some exercise, we'll learn lots of fun facts about snow, such as why snowflakes are usually hexagonal.
After 2 hours of snowshoeing in the Cantabrian Mountains, we'll finish the activity back at the starting point at 1 pm.
