Pearl Farm Guided Tour
Pearl Farm Guided Tour
At the appointed time we'll meet in the Pichilingue industrial area to begin our visit to a pearl farm in La Paz. With only two pearl farms in all of Mexico, this experience promises to be uniquely special.
At the pearl farm, you'll witness the fascinating creation process of these marine treasures. Did you know these precious jewels take about six years to develop? The cultivation process involves meticulous care and requires a very specific environment to grow and thrive.
Throughout the tour, we'll share with you the historical importance of pearls in the region, from the first inhabitants of Baja California to the present day.
Along the way, you'll also learn about the traditional and modern techniques used in pearl farming and how this treasure has influenced the local culture and economy over time. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to interact with live marine organisms like oysters, crabs, starfish, sea urchins, and fish.
After an enriching 2 hours, we'll bring the tour to an end.
