Lake Titicaca and Isla del Sol Trip
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at the bus station in La Paz. From here, we'll start our journey to Copacabana, a charming city on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Over 4 hours, we'll enjoy incredible views of the Andean landscape.
Our first stop will be Copacabana Church, where we'll admire its colonial architecture and learn about its historical and cultural importance. Then, we'll explore the city's traditional markets, where you can find typical products and handmade gifts. It's the perfect opportunity to find a souvenir for your trip!
Next up, we'll give you an hour of free time to eat at a local restaurant. You can try delicious Bolivian cuisine, including fresh fish from Lake Titicaca and the famous griller trout.
After lunch, we'll board a boat on Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world and one of the largest in South America. You'll marvel at its clear water and the snowy peaks in the Andes in the distance. Don't forget your camera!
The boat will take us to the south part of the Isla del Sol, where we'll visit the Pilkokaina Palace, an ancient Incan construction. Here, you'll discover the history and culture of this ancient civilisation as you explore the ruins of the palace. Then, we'll continue our route around the island to Yumani, a charming town where we'll find the Three Fountains of the Incans, known for its curing properties and water that comes straight from Lake Titicaca.
After our tour of the Isla del Sol, we'll take the boat back to Copacabana and then the bus back the La Paz, where we'll end this day trip after a total of 14 hours back at the initial meeting point.
