Discover one of the most curious and colorful sports in South America when you attend a Fighting Cholitas wrestling match. This traditional theatrical fight is performed exclusively by Indigenous women as a display of empowerment.
Fighting Cholitas Show
We'll pick you up from your hotel in La Paz before heading to El Alto, the second most populated city in Bolivia.
After a brief journey of around 45 minutes, we'll arrive at the venue for the wrestling match. The Fighting Cholitas are a group of indigenous Bolivian women who for years have been staging bouts in full traditional costume. The performance is a form of empowerment for this marginalized group and a way to raise awareness of their position.
When you arrive at the ringside, you'll take your place in fantastic VIP seats with a prime view of the event. As you watch the fight, you can also enjoy some delicious popcorn and a tasty soft drink of your choice.
The Cholita fight is similar to mainstream Mexican lucha libre or American pro wrestling as it's dramatized to make it more entertaining and suitable for the family. During the show, you'll witness spectacular elbow drops, flying kicks, and other spectacular acrobatic moves.
After this wonderful performance has finished, we'll return to La Paz on the bus.
