Sloth Watching Park Visit
Sloth Watching Park Visit
At the designated time, we'll meet in the outskirts of La Fortuna and get ready to make some new furry friends.
We'll head into the park and spend 1.5 to 2 hours exploring a trail that'll take us to the sloths, which are one of the country's most typical wildlife species. Whether they're hanging from tree branches, peeking out from behind the leaves with a cheeky smile, or hiding on the forest floor, you're sure to spot sloths throughout the park! Did you know there are two types of these furry animals in Costa Rica? See if you can tell if they're two- or three-toed sloths!
Wandering through the rainforest, watching the animals in their natural habitat, you'll discover how the park is dedicated to adopting orphaned sloths and caring for those with injuries. What better place to visit the adorable species?!
As you see the animals up close during your sloth trail, don't worry if they don't seem to be moving much! As their name suggests, sloths are slow creatures who make deliberate movements, some of them spending up to 90 percent of the day motionless! You'll learn many more fascinating facts about the furry tree-huggers on the day of your tour... did you know they're actually surprisingly strong swimmers?!
