Night Hike in Frog Sanctuary
Night Hike in Frog Sanctuary
After picking you up from your hotel in La Fortuna at 5 pm, we will start a 30-minute road trip to the town of La Tigra. There, the Méndez family will be waiting for us to show us how they have set aside part of their property to help the natural regeneration of plants and animals.
We will then enter a forest of water mirrors, where we will be able to observe the nocturnal life of the amphibians, insects, birds, and mammals that populate this rich ecosystem.
We will follow the shores of these lagoons until we arrive at the frog sanctuary, where we will admire different varieties, such as the amazing glass frog or the red-eyed frog. We will also see the largest and smallest frog in all of Costa Rica: the bullfrog and the hammerhead frog.
After our encounter with the nocturnal wildlife of Costa Rica, we will conclude our trekking route with a delicious dinner cooked in a traditional wood oven whilst admiring the San Carlos plain lit up at night.
We will say goodbye to the Méndez family and return to your hotel in La Fortuna, where we will arrive at around 9 pm.
