One of the options will be the Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks, renowned for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates and scenic hiking paths. Nearby, we'll find the Tofukuji Temple if you wish, a Zen temple noted for its grand wooden bridges and beautiful gardens. Top tip: this spot is especially stunning in autumn!
You can also choose to visit the Sanjusangendo Temple, famous for its awe-inspiring hall that houses 1,001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. We can also head to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering spectacular views of the city.
After that, you might feel like strolling through the charming Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka Streets, where we'll see traditional shops, tea houses, and cafes. These streets offer an authentic insight into old Kyoto.
A visit to the Yasaka Shrine is also a possibility, this is a Shinto shrine known for its lanterns and lively festivals. Then we can head to Maruyama Park, a peaceful retreat within the city, known for its cherry blossoms and ponds. Here, we'll take a short break to enjoy the beauty of the park before we continue our journey.
Another great attraction is the Chion-in Temple. Did you know that it's home to one of the largest temple bells in Japan? The temple’s impressive architecture will amaze you!
