Unlimited Transport in Kansai and Hokuriku
The Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass grants you unlimited travel on local trains and buses for 7 consecutive days within the designated areas of Kansai and Hokuriku. It also includes reserved seats on bullet trains between Shin-Osaka and Okayama, as well as between Kanazawa and Joetsu-Myoko.
Additionally, you’ll have access to major regional trains such as the Haruka, Thunderbird, Kuroshio, and Kounotori, which connect key cities in the region. This makes it easy to explore the iconic destinations of the Land of the Rising Sun without the hassle of individual tickets.

How Does It Work?
The Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass offers unlimited travel on trains and buses within the Kansai and Hokuriku regions for 7 consecutive calendar days, starting from the first day of use. To activate the pass, simply present your printed voucher and passport at designated JR ticket offices.
Important Info
The Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass is valid for non-Japanese citizens only.
Please note that the following routes and trains are not included in the price of the Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass:
- The trip between Joetsu-Myoko and Tokyo on the Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train
- The route between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo on the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train
- Okayama to Hakata on the Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train
- IR Ishikawa Railway*
- Ainokaze Toyama Railway*
The pass does not cover the “A Seat” paid seating service on special express trains.
*As an exception, the pass can be used on the Himi, Johana, or Nanao lines only if the pass holder does not disembark on the IR Ishikawa Railway (between Kanazawa and Tsubata) or the Ainokaze Toyama Railway (between Takaoka and Toyama).
Limited express trains can be used on the IR Ishikawa Railway (between Kanazawa and Tsubata).
If you wish to use the Ainokaze Liner express service on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway, an additional liner fare supplement will be required.
Children Under 5
Children under 5 years old can travel free when accompanied by an adult with a pass, although there is a limit of two children per adult.
