Would you like to visit the Arashiyama bamboo forest? On this tour, we'll get to see this world-famous natural site as well as two beautiful temples.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Saga-Arashiyama Station, from which point we'll walk to the bamboo forest, one of Kyoto's most famous natural attractions.
The bamboo plant is closely tied to Japanese culture. We'll talk about the economic and spiritual role of bamboo in Japan. You may notice the curious, meditative sound produced by the wind passing through the bamboo trees.
As we head through the bamboo forest, which is home to some trees over 20 metres (65 ft) in height, we'll come across two Buddhist temples. While we're here, we'll learn about the history of these buildings and also visit the Okawauchi Sanso garden.
We'll then stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, which will include a main course, a side, and a drink.
After 4-5 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
