Kiev and Saint Sophia's Cathedral Guided Tour
Kiev Guided Tour
After meeting at Saint Volodymyr's Cathedral in the heart of Kiev, you'll first enter this beautiful place of worship, before commencing your guided tour of the historic centre.
After leaving the Cathedral, you'll pass through the Golden Gate, the medieval entrance to the city, and head to Saint Sophia Cathedral. This architectural masterpiece, a combination of Byzantine and Ukrainian Baroque styles, is one of the most recognisable symbols of Kiev.
Inside the Cathedral, you'll discover its frescos and admire the detailed Virgin Orans mosaic. This six-metre tall image is one of Ukraine's most venerated icons.
The tour will then take you through the streets of Podil, the oldest neighbourhood in Kiev. Walking alongside its medieval buildings, you'll arrive in one of the Ukrainian capital's most modern areas, where you'll be able to admire the golden domes of the St. Michael's Monastery, one of the most distinctive buildings in the city, and St. Andrew's Church. Then we'll explore the banks of the Dnieper River, heading to European Square, and the lively Khreschatyk Street - the most vibrant part of the city.
The tour will come to an end in the centre of Kiev.
